To tackle cases related to cyber crime, the Uttarakhand police have decided to identify 10 personnel in big districts like Dehradun and Haridwar and five in smaller districts like Champawat and train them in cases related to cyber crime.

At a seminar in Dehradun which was attended by officers of SP and above rank, experts provided training on ways to handle cases related to cyber crime, besides educating officers about the differences in cases of normal crime and those related to IT frauds.

Cyber expert Sachin Dadiya and cyber law legal expert Nishit Dixit made the presentation to make several factors clear to the senior policemen while handling the probe into matters linked with cyber crime and also the precautions needed in the investigation. Dixit informed the police seniors about the sections of IT Act and made an elaborate presentation.

ADG Law and Order Ashok Kumar said the cyber cell in different districts would be strengthened and the staff would be given the proper training to handle the cases. As a part of which, the big districts have been asked to identify 10 police personnel and smaller districts five cops to prepare to handle cases of cyber crime. “This will mean that we will handle these case more effectively,” he added.
